Naked finish aniline (vegetable tanned) cow leather has a natural grain. It is soft to the touch with a matte finish. This leather will take on markings made by the user and is not meant to stay pristine. Bag leather will evolve over time with daily use, developing a patina, either becoming lighter or darker, depending on how the user chooses to wear the bag. Untreated naked finish leather will stain if it gets wet.

Are Studio was established in 2012 by Cecilia Bordarampé, a Los Angeles based designer with a background in textile arts, photography and art history. Sourcing materials locally from family owned suppliers and manufacturing near her home in Los Angeles, Bordarampé designs timeless totes and handbags that are at once luxurious and stylish, minimal and practical. Particular attention is paid to reducing waste during the manufacturing process – the untreated leather hides used are all unique and small, natural imperfections and color variations are not cut out, making each bag slightly unique to any other.
