Deadwood

The Deadwood vision – to create
iconic lifestyle pieces that cause minimal harm to the planet for a community of people inspired to live more conscious lives. The company was founded in Stockholm in 2012 by Carl Ollson and Felix von Bahder. After opening their own vintage store, the pair took the idea of clothing recycling one step further. Through innovative design and creative seaming, they were able to use leather from vintage jackets, deadstock skins, and upcycled post-production waste to make new, thoroughly modern pieces from the waste. Though the jackets are not vegan, Ollson and Bahder like to refer to their process as "from the grave to the cradle", crafting modern, stylish garments out of existing skins, without harming animals in the process. Deadwood production is done in northern India, where the duo partner with like-minded factories who share their passion to make positive change in a country particularly ravaged by the fashion industry.
