Impeccably detailed quilted vest, made with soft and luxurious, naturally dyed velvet. Can be worn on its own or layered over a top as a vest.
Designer Vivien Ramsay describes her collection as elegant simplicity – a simplicity of lines, forms, and movement but also of what's used to create her pieces. Learning to dye in the traditional method of the Mangyan people, Ramsay harvests her own dyes and uses botanical color from such things as indigo flowers, almond leaves, ginger, and coffee musk to create her palette. Natural fibers such as wool, cashmere, silk, hand-woven silk lace and cotton jersey are the backbone of her designs and the almost experimental layering of color on these fabrics makes each piece slightly unlike any other. Her studio on the northern coast of the Philippines is a completely vertical workshop – design, patterns, sewing, dyeing and printing are all done there, overseen by Ramsay.
