The Looking Glass
Lily Yeung
At the start of the 20th century, the American sociologist Thomas H. Cooley developed the concept of “the looking glass self." Cooley theorized that it is through our human interactions and the ways in which we perceive others to view us, that we build our senses of self. Our latest journal series, The Looking Glass, is a visual narrative through which we experience Kindred Black through the lens of inspiring creatives and aesthetes and build our community from these unique perspectives.
Our first installment was shot by the Santa Fe based, Navajo-Chinese fiber artist and model, Lily Yeung. Since her recent move from LA to New Mexico, Lily has been consciously slowing down, immersing herself in her ancestral lands, and finding inspiration in the incredible natural world around her.
Lily wears the Racerback Crop Tank in white, the Crop Tee in black, the Muscle Tee in rib, and the V-Neck in white.
