After a long week of bad news coming from the capital, we’re not feeling as patriotic as usual this weekend. But we are still champions of those who work hard every day to bring American craft back to life. Our basics line is made by Mona Lisa Fashions, a second generation family run factory, where a mother and daughter work side by side, along with their skilled husbands, aunts, uncles, and cousins creating garments that are made to last for years to come.
Their shop is in Allentown, PA, the third largest city in Pennsylvania with a rich manufacturing history since the opening of the Lehigh Canal in the 19th century. Our basics are made in small batches, prioritizing quality and material over quantity and speed.
Family run by Mereille Ziade and her husband, mother (the Mona Lisa namesake), and father, with a small group of skilled pattern makers, tailors, and seamstresses that include aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We’ve been able to work with Mona Lisa to use a lot of the deadstock fabric leftover from old orders or abandoned by customers that no longer had any use for the fabrics.
We're proud to support American craftspeople working hard every day to keep our manufacturing traditions alive.
