A spicy, aromatic oil with notes of pine, the desert, and a hint of bright citrus. Franc Encens is an anti-aging booster for skin, an agent of natural pain relief for the body, and one of the oldest natural perfumes on earth. We created this small batch multi-use oil using an artisanal hydro-distillation of Omani black Frankincense and a macerated Frankincense concentrate.
Produced in the Sultanate of Oman, the oil is distilled in copper using hand hammered traditional European alembic pot stills, and the concentrate is made from the spent resin of the oil. The resin is dried and macerated in organic coconut oil producing a thick, fragrant oil with a high concentration of boswellic acid, an anti-inflammatory and agent of natural pain relief.
Frankincense
One of the earliest perfumes known to humanity, Frankincense was once as highly prized and valuable as gold. Its trade was tied to the development of the Incense Road through the Arabian Peninsula and was responsible for the advent of new goods, currency, and other advancements, including the domestication of the camel, to the region as early as 1500 BC. It is said that the Egyptian Queen Hatshepsut organized an expedition to the fabled land of Punt in search of this sticky golden currency and that The Queen of Sheba, in her insatiable search for wisdom, gifted King Solomon four tons of gold, many precious jewels, and the largest quantity of frankincense ever brought to Jerusalem.
