The solid, deep black obsidian is communally mined in the Mexican state of Hidalgo and shaped by hand in a workshop near the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán. This smooth, glass-like volcanic stone has been used in healing for thousands of years, believed to dispel fear, anxiety, and anger, and to clear the psyche of lingering negative energy.
