Description
Embodying the rich, verdant pulsations of the planet, Earthly is created with base notes of knobby, dark softwoods, velvety with damp moss, steeped with evergreens, and finished with top notes of fresh grass, tangled vines, and firm young violet leaves. A woodland dance through the vernal glen, where nymphs and forest fairies, rhythmically, hypnotically beguile the psyche.

A multi-faceted experience, Earthly is at once a solitary walk in the chill autumn woodland and a magical adventure in the tall, swaying grasses of a late summer night. Fresh and lively, with pure lilac enfleurage and firm, young violet leaf, the crisp grassiness of the scent is tempered with rounder, creamier base notes of oakmoss, cedar, and vetiver.
Our lilac enfleurage and violet oils that are used in this precious perfume are handmade on a female owned, organic farm dedicated to the propagation and preservation of local lilacs in New York State. Graceful and subtle blossoms, lilac and violet blossoms don’t lend themselves to harsh, modern methods of oil extraction – so much of their true essence is lost with these methods that the scent profile becomes unrecognizable. Our oils are handmade using the ancient and laborious method of enfleurage, an extraction process that does not employ heat or chemical solvents, and the wonderful oils created are true to the experience of the living plant.
The Five Elements
The English word "element" derives from a Greek term stoikheion meaning "step" or "component part," translated into Latin as "elementum." Ancient scholars and philosophers perceived four elements, later adding a fifth, as the irreducible components of the universe and all it contained. These were water, earth, fire, air, and ether (i.e. "space" or "void.") Since almost the dawn of time, various civilizations and different cultures have perceived the natural world in similar terms to these building blocks.
