Originally trained in architecture, Jessica Tena founded Iala Diez in 2015 after discovering a passion for the leather craftsmanship and fine materials of her homeland. Modernizing and building on these traditions to make something unique for the contemporary woman, Diez designs chic and simple accessories that are each hand stitched in the Iala Diez studio in Castilla y Leon, Spain. The artisan makers use just two needles and waxed thread, creating seams that are stronger and bags that are built to last for many years. The leather is made locally in small, traditional factories and is crafted using a 100% vegetable tanning process using mimosa extract.
