The balsam in Sleeping Beauty is hand distilled in very small batches in Sunderland, Massachusetts using balsam fir tips from The Pieropan Christmas Tree Farm in Ashfield MA, a magical place that implements sustainable "stump-culture" tree management. The tips are only harvested in the winter, when the needles have the most potent oils built up from the previous season's growth.
Our complex lavender grows at high elevations in the French Alps and is harvested and distilled by a female owned floral farm in Nice whose workers and apprentices are partially hired from a local school for troubled youth, sent to the farm for emotional healing.
Our farm distilled peppermint comes from the oldest, continuously family operated mint farm in the United States. Founded in 1912 and sitting on 90 acres of Michigan farmland, the oil is artisan distilled in the same place where it’s harvested to ensure freshness. The farm takes their ecological accountability seriously and the oils are tested to be chemical, herbicide, insecticide and pesticide free, as well as free of banned and industrial chemicals.
