Description
A small batch infusion of golden Sonoran Desert jojoba oil slowly infused with whole chamomile flowers. This started as something simple that we made for an event, flowers resting in a healing body oil, slowly infusing it with their soothing properties. We brought the samples back home and began using them ourselves, moving the bottles around the house – next to the kitchen sink for our hands after washing dishes, by the bath for a soak, in the work studio throughout the day. We can imagine ourselves when it’s warmer reaching for it after gardening or after an outdoor shower at the beach. Versatile, healing, and calming, this limited edition is in a special larger size of our rainbow kaleidoscope bottles, hand blown in Mexico by artisans that use recycled glass and renewable energy for their craft.

The Bottle
The rainbow kaleidoscope bottles are each unique and hand blown by a revolutionary glassblowing studio in Oaxaca, Mexico, one of the most economically disadvantaged communities in the country. The studio has spent the last fifteen years perfecting not only their craft of glassblowing, but the sustainable and ecological way that they run their facility. Through much experimentation they've learned to create beauty from waste – they produce their own fuel and power their furnaces, glory holes, and annealing ovens using processed, used vegetable oil from local restaurants (preventing the material from being dumped into the city sewers and contaminating rivers), and methane gas produced on-site from a combination of cow and pig manure and blood from a local butcher. Other equipment is solar powered and the glass pieces are made from 95% recycled bottles brought to the studio by waste pickers, restaurants, and locals because there are no municipal recycling programs in the area. Just 5% of the material is new, raw material to add back transparency and brilliance to the glass.

We love Chamomile for its ability to soothe both the skin and the spirit. It is naturally anti-inflammatory and can help reduce redness and calm irritations, but it is also prized for the quiet comfort of its scent, a green, honeyed, and hay-like aroma that feels instinctively soothing.
