Description

Liquid gold for an allover glow – pure, organic jojoba oil from a family-run farm in the Sonoran Desert. Jojoba is a fantastically effective and multipurpose oil that can be used for hair, face, and body. A light oil for everyday use, jojoba is naturally antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, non- comedogenic, and is one of the most structurally similar oils to what our skin naturally produces.

How To Use

  • Use a few drops on the face to hydrate, replenish, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • For a naturally astringent facial cleanser and makeup remover massage a small amount into the face and rinse with warm water.
  • Jojoba can balance the skin by slowing the overproduction of sebum that can clog pores and cause pimples. Use on affected areas as a spot treatment or allover the face as you would your normal face oil.
  • Use on the lips for softness and shine.
  • Apply to the entire body immediately after bathing to nourish and hydrate the skin and to lighten and help heal scars.
  • To combat dandruff, massage into the scalp for 5 minutes, working into the hair to the ends. Wrap the head with a warm towel for 45 min – 1 hr and wash out with shampoo.
  • Use a small amount in damp hair before styling for softness and shine or use a few drops in dry hair to smooth away frizz.
  • Mix a small amount with a few drops of our Rose Oil booster for a lightly scented floral body oil or an intoxicating and aphrodisiac massage oil.
  • Mix a small amount with a few drops of our Peppermint Oil for a cooling after-sun or after-workout body oil or massage oil to treat sore muscles and joints.

The Bottle

Each bottle is hand blown individually at a revolutionary glassblowing studio in Oaxaca, Mexico. Through much experimentation this collective has learned to create beauty from waste, recycling local glass that would otherwise end up in the trash, and using solar and other natural resources for power. The bottles are shipped using the ancient method of cork and wax sealing.

Sonoran Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is a versatile botanical oil that can be used effectively on face, body, and hair and is light enough for everyday use and on all skin types.

Sonoran Jojoba Oil
Each bottle is hand blown individually at a revolutionary glassblowing studio in Oaxaca, Mexico. The studio has spent years perfecting not only their craft of glassblowing, but the sustainable and ecological way that they run their facility. They produce their own fuel and power their furnaces, glory holes, and annealing ovens using processed, used vegetable oil from local restaurants, methane gas produced on-site from a combination of cow and pig manure, and blood from a local butcher. Other equipment is solar powered and the glass itself is made from recycled bottles brought to the studio by waste pickers, restaurants, and locals because there are no municipal recycling programs in the area. During a typical week, 550 pounds of discarded glass is recycled and used to create beautiful, handmade vessels.

Jojoba Oil

We chose organic jojoba as one of the staples of our beauty regimen because of its long history and versatility. Native Americans in the American Southwest have been using jojoba for hundreds of years to treat skin conditions, sores, wounds, sun and windburn, and as a hair and scalp treatment. One of two oils that are the most structurally similar to the skin's natural oil – the other being whale oil – the use of the more humane and renewable jojoba became more prevalent after the government banned the use of sperm whale oil in 1974.
