Late 19th century Chinese carved white jade double fish talisman. In China a pair of fish signifies fidelity and unity because fish often swim in pairs. To receive a pair of fish as a wedding present is seen as very auspicious because it symbolizes a wish for the couple to find happiness and prosperity together and be blessed with many children.
