Intricately designed 1960's 14k gold and pink coral bangle. Legend has it that coral is pink because when Perseus, mounted on Pegasus with the newly slain Medusa's head in a sack, flew over Andromeda chained to a cliff by a sea monster, he alighted to save the unfortunate nymph and laid Medusa's head on some seaweed at the water's edge. The blood seeped into the seaweed, turning it to stone and in the process dying the rocks their pale pink hue.
