Hearth broom handmade and dyed by Jack Martin of Hockaday Handmade Brooms in Selmer, Tennessee. The Hockaday family has been growing broomcorn in TN since the early 1900's and Martin learned the art of broom making from his grandfather, Jack Hockaday, who had been crafting brooms with his father since 1916. Each broom is still made on the antique broom equipment built by Martin's great-grandfather, Will, and the shop is still located on the same farmland in Selmer.
