Hand pinched, glazed and fired porcelain Seder plate by Isabel Halley. Plate has six unglazed indentations that fit the small pinch pots used to hold the symbolic foods of the ritual meal. Plate and pinch pots are clear glazed, with hand painted 22 karat gold rims and the plate indentations are labeled with hand painted Hebrew writing with a black underglaze. Each bowl is made by pinching the clay from the center as far as the porcelain will allow. The process of pinching creates an organic, delicate form that is uniquely different in each piece.
