Lys is an aromatherapeutic body and pulse point oil handmade with precious small batch botanicals, the embodiment of the Earth’s intelligence – wild-rooted, sun-warmed, and deeply alive. From the ancient word meaning “lily” and symbolizing the purity in matter, Lys represents the convergence of earth and energy, body and breath. Aromatherapy oils use scent to influence mood and atmosphere and the plants in the blend speak the language of the land: desert-bright rabbitbrush, verdant green mandarin, forest-rich pine, and rootwise vetiver. A perfumed oil crafted as a living expression of the earth’s vitality, carrying the essence of soil, root, resin, flower, and leaf.

The Ingredients
Green mandarin is one of the only citrus oils that is expressed from the peel of an unripe fruit, giving the scent a unique character that doesn’t exist in any other citrus note. Retaining the gentle energy of its immaturity, the scent is more pointed and green and though it has a hint of floral sweetness, it lacks the dense sugar of juicy, ripe citrus. The profile is energetic but grounding and is known to be helpful after overstimulation.
Our Appalachian white pine is a small-batch distillation from the needles and branches of a single Eastern White Pine, pruned on a homestead in Marshall, North Carolina in a clearing maintained not with chemicals, but by a team of goats and a horse. A native species of the Appalachian mountains, New England, and Eastern Canada, this type of tree was once revered for its towering old-growth forests — it was prized in colonial times as premium timber for shipbuilding. Today, it remains a gentle giant of the Eastern forest and its soft, refined scent, reminiscent of crisp mountain air and dappled canopy light, can help to clear stagnant energy and promote feelings of renewal and balance.
A singular note in perfumery, Vetiver oil is distilled from the root system of chrysopogon zizanioides, a grass whose roots can grow ten feet underground. From the dark earth of its subterranean lair, the oil gets a mineral depth, the smoky, damp sweetness of a place where things go to rest. A purifying and protective herb, the perfume of the vetiver root is used to calm the mind and create a sense of sanctuary.
Our wildcrafted, dusty-sweet Rabbitbrush, is distilled by a master artisan in the high desert wilds of Southern Utah. Created in small batches, each harvest is conducted in close partnership with the U.S. Forest Service to ensure ecological care and long-term sustainability. While not a traditional smudge plant, many find an instinctive sense of energetic clearing and feel that the dry, bright, slightly bitter scent of rabbitbrush can cut through mental or emotional congestion.
