Classic shaving soap with masculine, spicy notes of leather and skin nurturing, plant-based ingredients. Produces tremendously creamy foam and leaves shaved skin exceptionally smooth. Cut and bottled by hand in Germany.
Founded by Philipp Klar in 1840, Klar is now the oldest family-run soap manufactory in Germany. Crafted in Heidelberg, their soaps are handmade using traditional methods and some of the same molds and presses from the end of the 19th century. Though much has stayed the same, one important change has been that while many industrial soap manufacturers today still rely on animal fat, Klar only uses organically farmed, pure vegetable oils for all of their products today.
Because of palm oil's impact on the primeval forest in Indonesia and Malaysia and the threat to the habitat of the orangutan, Klar only uses Ecocert and RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil) certified palm oil for their soaps and are working on high quality alternatives to avoid the use of palm oil long-term.
