To craft this award-winning bar, Monsoon Chocolate partnered with Ucayali River Cacao, a fermentary that works with nearly 400 cocoa farmers along the Ucayali River outside the Peruvian city of Pucallpa. The region has a long and complex history of narco-trafficking and the presence of the Shining Path militant group. Ucayali River Cacao has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development and Alianza Peru to offer a premium for wet cacao, giving local farmers access to an alternative market to cocaine. The Ucayali bar has a deep, dark chocolate flavor lightly mellowed by certified organic milk to create a luxurious treat with perfect flavor and a velvety melt-in-your-mouth texture. These delicious treats are hand-crafted in Tucson, Arizona.
