New York Stoneware was established in 2013 by William Reardon in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in New York City, William studied architecture and ceramics at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and graduated with a BFA in 2007. He studied wheel throwing under Charlie Jahn and while earning his degree worked for Chicago ceramicist Bryan Kerrigan as Studio Assistant working on large-scale architectural ceramic tile. Now working in his own studio, William hand designs, throws, trims, glazes and fires simple, elegant pieces that are intended for everyday use.
