Pamela Love
One of the pioneers of ethical and sustainable jewelry, Pamela Love started her eponymous jewelry line in 2006 out of her Brooklyn apartment. Since then, she has created a full production facility and design studio in Manhattan’s garment district. Through that transformation Love has remained true to her ethical standards, using recycled metals, ethically mined stones, producing everything domestically, and even running her studio with wind and solar power.
Influenced by astronomy, astrology, alchemy, the American Southwest and architecture throughout the world, Love approaches her design as if it were art – something precious, unique and less mass produced but at the same time pieces that her devotees can still afford and feel comfortable wearing. Love's creed – "jewelry has the power to transform how you feel. Wear what makes you feel happy and strong."
Pamela Love has received numerous awards including the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund in 2011 and CFDA Lexus Eco Challenge for Sustainable Design in 2012. She was a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist in 2010 and a Runner Up 2011. She has been nominated for the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Design in 2011 and 2012.
