Description

Weighty 14k gold pretzel charm with diamond salt hanging from a delicate 14k gold link chain. The earliest known pretzels are said to have been called Pretiola, the latin for "little reward", because they were given by monks as treats to students that performed well. Seen at the time as symbols of good luck and prosperity, some cultures would come to pull the dough apart as one would use a wishbone. Made of interlocking parts, coiled together like entwined lovers, the pretzel also came to be known as symbolic of undying love by the 16th century.
