The Seeds of Love
The Greeks believed that Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, created marjoram and they used it as an aphrodisiac and saw it as a symbol of love and happiness. As such, the Greeks, Romans, and some Europeans during the middle ages used marjoram to crown couples on their wedding day.
There is a folk belief that hanging a bunch of yarrow over the bed on the wedding night will keep a newly married couple happy for seven years. It was often added to the bouquet or garlands worn by the bride or groom for the same effect.
The seductive scent of Chamomile flowers have been linked to producing sexual arousal in men and the herb has been used as an aphrodisiac for both men and women.
