Description

A rare and luxurious aromatic experience – our Sweet English Violet perfumed pommade is made using the ancient, labor intensive, and all but vanished scent extraction process of enfleurage. Most violet products in today’s market make use of the violet leaf but this incredible pommade is made using only the flower, and is created in small craft batches by the ounce instead of by the pound because of the tiny size and delicate nature of the petals.

How To Use

Use Sweet Violet Enfleurage on pulse points as a subtly provocative scent or rub lightly into the temples during episodes of stress and headache.

Iris Pallida (Orris) Butter*, Viola Odorata (Sweet Violet) Flower*, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Oil*, Polianthes Tuberosa (Tuberose) Flower Extract*. *Organic

Sweet Violet Enfleurage
Sweet Violet Enfleurage

Our Sweet Violet perfumed solid is made using the ancient, labor intensive, and all but vanished scent extraction process of enfleurage. Using this method, fresh, organic violet flowers are placed onto glass chassis into whipped orris root, a natural fixative with a marvelously fresh and nectarous aroma of its own.

Sweet Violet Enfleurage

The blossoms are changed every day for more than 30 days and at the end of the process the fat molecules are infused with the powdery, fruited scent from the exhaling flowers. Most violet products in today’s market make use of the violet leaf but this incredible pommade is made using only the flower, and is created in small craft batches by the ounce instead of by the pound because of the tiny size and delicate nature of the petals.

Sweet Violet Enfleurage
An enormously popular flower with the Victorians, the violet was thought to represent fidelity and, according to the age’s secret language of flowers, wearing purple violets was thought to convey that one’s thoughts were preoccupied by love. At the time, the scent of the flower was also thought to assuage sadness and depression and its reputation as a calming and stress relieving aroma has persisted.
Sweet Violet Enfleurage
Sweet Violet Enfleurage is soft and powdery but with the subtle green snap of young violet flowers. This year, we’ve chosen to pair the English violets with a hint of linden and tuberose flowers, blossoms that are also restrained and quietly romantic. The trio is airy and delicately sweet but retains the cool freshness of the violet flowers.
